Walter Joe Henschel – Ruler, God will Increase 11/20/1954 – 08/11/2017 Is It A Party?? Is It My Funeral?? - Walter Joe! A master in the art of living, He draws no distinction between his labor and his leisure, his pleasure and his toil, his love and his religion. He merely sets his mind to the task at hand Leaving others to determine whether he is at work or play. Walt was one of the bravest men alive - he met life head on - he would admit he was scared and keep going! Walt's purpose on this earth was to share a simple but profound truth: Don't settle for less than God's best! His faith brought him thru many challenges, he learned from meditating on scriptures that God had a Perfect Plan for everything from marriage & family to falling off roofs and out of trees! Among his many gifts was the spirit to come along-side others and teach a skill, be it hunting, fishing, construction, gardening, singing, math or even raising kids (him being the biggest kid). Walt lived with the deepest of scars, but knew that the blood of his brother and Savior, Jesus Christ had covered them - the price had been paid! In the prime of his life, Walt's greatest joy was his grandchildren - he lived for them and not for bone cancer, the last mountain he faced on this earth. He wanted things to be right between loved ones, but most of all, with God and flew home in the midst of the awesome meteor shower at 6:25 p.m., August 11, 2017. Walt is now rejoicing with his beloved grandparents, Walter Joe Henschel and Augusta Schuabert Henschel; Joseph Rowe and Grace West Rowe Schmidt. His parents, Harry Walter Henschel and Betty Ann Rowe Henschel Smith and Step-Dad "Smokey the Bear" Oliver Clayton Smith. He is fishing in the River of Life with his brother, Bob, Robert Lee Henschel I. He was met at the gate by his daughters, Heather Lorraine Henschel and Sarah Ann Henschel, and grandchildren (Heather's), Baby Angel Pepper and Baby Isaac Parker. Walt leaves us much to carry on here on earth…and we shall. Walter Joe Henschel is survived by his wife of 37 years, Allison Janeen Arnold-Henschel, sons, Robert Lee Henschel II and Derek Walter Henschel/Tiffany Cole (Brayden Walter and Henry James); daughter, Maude Amy Lee, and Jason and Rebecca Goode (Skylar Lynn Rose Henschel Goode and Grace Lily Rose Goode); brothers, Lawrence Glenn Henschel (Vanessa and Wyatt), John Darryl Henschel (Marie, Lil John, Melinda Marie and Greg); sister, Kathleen Denise Sanders (Michael and Alanna) and of course, the entire Arnold family claimed him as well! Walt loved all his family and friends dearly. Walt was a member of Cedar Heights Baptist Church, NLR, Ark. He was baptized in 1989 at Cedar Heights and taught Children's Church. He enjoyed working on the parsonage and singing in the choir. Thru the years, Walt attended UALR Business College, and worked for Levi Strauss, Kaufman Lumber, Monarch Mill, Jack Greene, Lumber One, First Preston, Habitat for Humanity and as a home builder. He long-hauled for JAMAR and Wayne Smith Trucking. Walt's Life Celebration will be led by Bro. Charlie Winters on Friday 6-8 p.m., August 25, 2017, 13801 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, Ark. 72211.
