Erma Davidson

Erma Evelyn Taylor Davidson, age 97, a resident of Bedford, Texas, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017. Erma was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Houston, Ark., to Luther and Florence Elsberry Taylor. She graduated from Lepanto Arkansas High School in 1938 and continued her education at Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo. She married Harold Lloyd Davidson on June 24, 1944 in Booneville, Ark. Erma worked as a legal secretary in several offices, including the Perry County Sheriff and Collector, Perry County School System, U.S. Navy Department, J.A. Riggs Tractor Company, Pulaski County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and most notably in the Arkansas Municipal League from 1945-1992. Erma was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in North Little Rock, and later a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. She was active in the Lay Witness Missions Programs for 20 years, and enjoyed Bible study with both Bible Study Fellowship and Community Bible Study. Erma loved pansies and hot tea in the afternoons, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. Erma is survived by her two sons, Harold Lee Davidson and his wife, Becky and Richard Allan Davidson; four grandchildren; Robert Davidson and wife Anna, Paul Davidson and wife Heather, John Davidson and wife Kristen, Kate Davidson Metzinger and husband Bryan; great grandchildren Grace, Emily, Phineas, Taylor, Luke, Harper, Lauren, and Brooklyn Davidson and Eli Metzinger. As well as several nieces and nephews and many families from Lay Witness Missions. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lloyd Davidson; parents Luther and Florence Elsberry Taylor; siblings Floyd E. Taylor, Ray T. Taylor, George William (G.W.), Alma Taylor Johnson, Lula Taylor Bell, Gladys Taylor Vaught, Grace Taylor Willis and twin brother, Ervin Everett Taylor. Memorial Gifts may be made to Community Bible Study, 790 Stout Road, Colorado Springs, Colo. 80921. Services will be at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark.
