Orben Dean "Mac" McLemore, 83, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017. Born to the late Orben McLemore and Mayme Kenedy McLemore Hixon in Booneville, Ark. Nov 1, 1933, Mac grew up in Booneville, graduated from Booneville High School, and attended Arkansas Tech University. Mac had a 20 plus year career with the US Army in food service and club management, serving all across the US and in Vietnam, before retiring from the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He was manager of Pine Bluff Country Club from 1974-1999, later serving as manager at Rosswood Country Club. He was a charter member and three-time president of Club Managers Association of America, Razorback Chapter. A devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Mac was a past Vestry member, chairman of the ushers, and a fixture in the Parish House kitchen at any event held at Trinity. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Heslip McLemore (married Dec. 28, 1956 in Booneville); son, David Dean McLemore, Pine Bluff; half-brother, Garland M. Hixon, Fort Smith, Ark. Visitation is Monday, Aug. 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Ralph Robinson & Son. Services are Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church with a reception following.
