Ellen Elizabeth Meek

Ellen Elizabeth Meek died in Houston, Texas, on October 5, 2017, after a long illness. She was born in Camden, Arkansas, to Betty and Dr. Tom J. Meek, on January 4, 1948. She received a B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and subsequently a Masters Degree in Library Science. Following graduation she married and moved to Houston, Texas. For many years she worked in the Houston Public School System as a Librarian where she developed a reputation as an expert in children's literature. She is survived by her husband, Edward Jones, and daughter and son-in-law, Alexandra and Andrew Brice of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, William J. Meek, MD and Gail Eisenhauer, MD of Little Rock and a brother and sister-in-law, Tom J. Meek, Jr. MD and Anne K. Meek of Baton Rouge, La. The family requests any donations be made to M.D. Anderson Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
