Darrell Abshere

Darrell Wayne Abshere, 79 of White Hall, passed away, Saturday, December 2, 2017. Born September 21, 1938 at Van Buren, he was a son of the late Earnest Edward Abshere and Lena Grace Swearinton Abshere. A man of many hats, Mr. Abshere was a United States Navy veteran, a great husband, father and provider. He retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad as an electrician in 1993 after several years of service. He enjoyed playing his guitar and bass fishing whenever the opportunity arose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Wayne Abshere Jr.; and siblings, Gordon Dunlap, Freddie Abshere, and Barbara Holland. Mr. Abshere is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Margie Tanner Abshere, to whom he married October, 30, 1959; children, George Abshere (Charlotte), and Mona Prather (Robbie); sister-in-law, Pauline Abshere; grandchildren, Darrell Wayne "Trey" Abshere III, Morgan Prather; and many other loving family and friends. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, December 6, 11 a.m. at Woolverton Mountain Cemetery, Conway County. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Cranford Funeral Home.
