Frank Michael Brooks

Frank Michael Brooks 70, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017, in Baton Rouge, La. He joined Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at an early age and was a 1965 graduate of Horace Mann High School. Frank spent four years in the Navy earning the rank of Quarter Master 3. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal (1st award) and the Vietnam Service Medal (1 bronze star). Frank worked for many years as a top sales manager for AT&T where he excelled at motivating his sales team. He loved planning and organizing the Awards Recognition trips each year to NYC and was the 1985 recipient of the AT&T Challenger Award for consumer markets. Frank was preceded in death by his father, John H. Brooks; mother, Annie M. Brooks; and brother, John C. Brooks. Mourning Frank's passing are his wife, Karen Jackson Brooks; his son, Malik Brooks; his daughters, Kendal Booker, Khaalis Sanchez, Amber Brooks and his children for whom he filled the role of father, Joe Straw (Bridget), Tamara Straw, Monica Whitington Lee and Kelly Nelson (Robert); his brothers, William (Cherie) and Gary (Marsha); his sisters, Doris and Nena (Stan) and 25 grandchildren. The family hour will be Friday, December 8, 2017, 7:30-8:30 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S. Chester St., Little Rock, Ark. (501) 372-1305. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 9, 2017, 3:30 p.m., at Christway Missionary Baptist Church, 4324 Potter Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204. Interment Monday, December 11th, at 12 noon, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave. North Little Rock, Arkansas.
