Janie Vernice Baker

Janie Vernice Baker, 52, of Quitman, Ark. passed away on December 1, 2017. She was born on May 21, 1965 to the late Charles Melton "C.M." Sneed and Carolyn Layne Sneed. She was also preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Fletcher and Nicey Sneed; and maternal grandparents, D.L. and Vernette Copeland. Janie graduated high school in Quitman and went to ASU Beebe where she played basketball. She went on to UCA to finish her education, working early mornings loading UPS trucks. After school she continued working for UPS for several years. She then bought a Little Debbie route and continued until she became disabled. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Quitman. She is survived by her daughter, Brooklyn Baker of Conway; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Harper of Wooster and Katy Baker of Maumelle; ex-husband, James Baker of Conway; two step grandchildren, Ashton and Hudson Harper; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Quitman. Family will visit with friends after the service. Family will have a private burial. Pallbearers will be, Kerry Baker, George Baker, Kent Baker, Lynn Burford, Chad Burford, and Rodey Burford.
