BRENTS REX WHITE passed away on Dec. 9, 2017. On April 21, 1937, Rex was born in Perry County. When he was young, his family moved to North Little Rock, which he had called home ever since. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1960, and served in the United States Navy for two years. He and his wife, Billie Jo, returned to North Little Rock so Rex could be a part of the family LP gas business, and he remained in the Navy reserve for 30 years, when he retired at the rank of Captain. Rex was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church for over 50 years and served as a Deacon and Sunday school teacher for many of those years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mabel Thompson White and Jack White, his daughter, Kristen White, brother, George White and sister, Alice Barton. Rex is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Jo White, his daughter, Pam White Callaway and son-in-law Matt Callaway, of El Dorado, his three granddaughters, Katy Callaway, Caroline Callaway and Abigail Callaway, his sister, Yvonne Whalen and brother-in-law Joe Whalen of North Little Rock, and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Rex's life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
