Doyle Kenneth Avaritt

Doyle Kenneth Avaritt of Harrison, Arkansas, departed this life December 9, 2017 at the age of 90. He was born September 17, 1927 in Benton Arkansas to Dillard Leland and Elsie Olive Avaritt. After graduating from Benton High School, he attended Abilene Christian University and Harding University. He had a passionate love for the Church and his brothers and sisters in Christ. He was married to Martha Sue Mansfield for almost sixty years, and with the strength of her support, for seventy years he traveled extensively over many states laboring as a preacher of the gospel. He helped to establish churches in Alamogordo, New Mexico; Colorado City, Texas; Farmington, New Mexico; Hereford, Texas; Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Harrison, Arkansas. He served for many years as an Elder, along with Brother Linston Avaritt and Brother James Mansfield at the East Smith Street Church of Christ, in Benton, Arkansas. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the North Pine Street Church of Christ, in Harrison, Arkansas. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Martha Sue, his sister, Ovela Wyly, his brother, Linston Avaritt, his brother D. L. Avaritt, and a grandson, Kendall Avaritt. He is survived by one sister, Doris Lipe, of Havana, Arkansas; four sons, Keith Avaritt and wife, Lesa, of Clarksville, Arkansas; Don Avaritt and wife, Linda, of Vilonia, Arkansas; Terry Avaritt, and wife, Gena, of Clarksville, Arkansas; and Ken Avaritt and wife, Kelli, of Harrison, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby's. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Smith Rosemont Cemetery.
