Karl F. Kauffman

Karl F. Kauffman, 86, of Pine Bluff, passed away surrounded by his family, Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at his home. Mr. Kauffman was born October 14, 1931, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Kenneth K. and Alethia Keatley Kauffman. He was reared and received his education in Tucson, Arizona. He attended and graduated from the University of Arizona, where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. After college, he served in the United States Marine Corp. He married Thelma Snyder on November 19, 1954, in Memphis Tennessee. Mrs. Kauffman passed away August 18, 2000. Mr. Kauffman was a Federal Bank Examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He is survived by his son, Thomas A. Kauffman of White Hall; daughters, Thelma Jane Kauffman (David James) of Little Rock and Sue Ellen (Johnny) Davis of Pine Bluff; three grandsons, Robert Karl (Nichole) Bruorton of Sherwood, James Karl Kauffman of Sherwood, and Steven Alan Kauffman of Washington D.C.; one great-grandson, Alexander Karl Bruorton of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Thelma Snyder Kauffman. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 14, 2017, 5 to 7 p.m., at Robinson's. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials take the form of contributions to Shriner's Hospitals for Children-Shreveport, Attn: Development Office, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
