Thomas W. Cole

Mr. Thomas W. Cole Jr. age 82, of Forrest City, Ark., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis. Mr. Cole was born Sept. 14, 1935 in Widener, Ark. He was the son of Thomas W. Cole Sr. and Velma Ella Jones Cole. Mr. Cole was the owner operator of Tom Cole Tire Company for many years in Forrest City. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a graduate of Forrest City High School and Arkansas State University. Mr. Cole married Doris Jane McCollum in 1955. She survives him along with a son, Thomas W. Cole III and wife Becky of Forrest City. Two grandchildren, Taylor and Torrie Cole also survive him along with one great-grandchild Garrett Mason DuVall. He was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy Carol Cole in 2014. Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
