Lila R. Pettyjohn

Lila (Wright) Pettyjohn, 98, of Springdale, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 16, 2017 in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born on March 12, 1919 in Logan County, Arkansas. She would go on to marry John R. Pettyjohn Sr. in 1940. Lila loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Pettyjohn Sr; her parents, Bee Chism and Amanda Estella (Lee) Wright; and one brother, Clifford Wright. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Evelyn Carr of Springdale; a son, John R. Pettyjohn Jr. of Springdale; a daughter, Kathy Waldo and husband George of Springdale; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9–10 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home in Springdale. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Mrs. Pettyjohn's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. A committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Fort Smith.
