David Sherman Quay

David (Dave) Sherman Quay, age 56, passed away unexpectedly in mid-September 2017 at his home in Springdale, Arkansas. Dave was the fourth son born to Robert Quay and Shirley McClain, June 7, 1961. Dave grew up playing sports in western Pennsylvania and graduated from Beaver High School in 1979. After graduation he spent two years in Southern California living with his step mother Jean Sullivan Quay and his two younger sisters before joining the navy. Dave served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Constellation from 1983-86. He returned to California for several years after the service before moving to Branson, Missouri and finally settling in Springdale, Arkansas. Dave was employed by WalMart for many years and was proud of being a homeowner. Dave will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laugh, his love for the Beatles, his 1972 Nova, the Pittsburgh Steelers and his dogs Lady, Abbey and Kimba. Dave loved to give everyone nick-names and to find humor in the mundane. Dave is survived by his brothers, Jeffrey Quay, Robert (Sharron) Quay and John (Donna) Quay, and sisters, Valerie Quay Anderson and Elisabeth Quay (Tom) Pirruccello, and step-mother, Jean Sullivan Quay, along with two nephews and four nieces. His immediate family and closest friends met on December 17 to remember and celebrate Dave's life. He will be laid to rest in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, with preceded family.
