James R. "Tater" Davis, 82, of North Little Rock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 26, 2017. He was born March 13, 1935, in North Little Rock, to the late Thomas Luther and Dorothy Davis. James graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1952. He was employed for 44 years with Union Pacific Railroad, where he worked as a supervisor for over 30 years. He was a devoted Christian man, who loved the Lord dearly. He taught Sunday school for many years and made sure to raise his family in a Christian home. James loved his family dearly and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping most because he was doing it with his family. At deer camp, all the grandkids and great-grandkids loved riding on the four wheeler with their Big Paw Paw. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, T.L. Davis; two sisters, Trevere Jones and Thelma Weiler; infant son, James Thomas Davis; and infant great- granddaughter, Hallie Ann. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sylvia; two sons, Dr. Richard "Dick" Davis (Sheila) and Michael "Taterchip" Davis (Denise); one sister, Jean Martin; four grandchildren, Dr. Keith Davis (Jennifer), Steven Davis (Katie), Mistie Cook (Jason), and Sheena Cook (Jeffrey); and eight great-grandchildren, Courtney, Haley, Kylie Jo, Carson, Isabella, Kaylin, and Tinley. A visitation will begin at Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Runyan First Baptist Church, 10611 Jacksonville Cato Rd, NLR, Ark., with services to follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
