Floradel Reid

Floradel G. Reid, age 79,of Pine Bluff, died January 3, 2017. She was born May 31, 1937 in Ventura, California, to Harry and Mercedes Green. In 1944 the family moved to San Diego where Floradel grew up. She graduated from San Diego State University in 1959 with degrees in journalism and political science. Floradel met her future husband, Bill, on a blind date in 1958, was married in 1960, and moved to Pine Bluff in 1961. Floradel was active in First United Methodist Church, serving as president of the UMW, and served on various boards and committees. She was an active member of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School class for 54 years. She was also active in The Salvation Army, and served as president of the Women's Auxiliary. For 10 years Floradel co-produced the Pine Bluff High School Choir Follies, assisting in fundraising for the choir program. Floradel was also an integral part of the family business, Reid-Vining Jewelers, including managing stores in Little Rock. Floradel is survived by her husband, Bill Reid; daughters, Pam Settlage (Kevin) of Potomac, MD, Cathy Reid of Germantown, Tenn., and Susan Glatter (Rick) of Little Rock; grandsons, Justin and Adam Settlage, Richard and Reid Glatter, and granddaughter, Riley Catherine Glatter. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff, followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
