Maureen Ray Herrin

Maureen (Ray) Herrin, age 75, of Arkadelphia, departed this life to her real home in Heaven on December 31, 2016. She was born August 5, 1941, to the late Earl Lee and Beatrice (McGuire) Ray. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Leon Herrin, and son, Gary Herrin; sister, Darlene Freeman, brothers, Dean and Carl Ray. Maureen worked at Levi Straus for 16 years. When they closed, she went to work for Elk Horn Bank, now Southern Bancorp, for nineteen years. She retired in 2003, as Manager of the Caddo Valley Branch. Maureen was an avid reader and also served on the Library Board for several years. She taught Sunday School at Oak Bower Church of Christ in Bismarck for many years. Leon and Maureen had a beautiful life together with their children. They loved God and taught their children to love the Lord. Together they raised three wonderful children, two loving daughters: Renea (Steven) Gosnell and Earlene (Kenny) Smith, and one son, Gary Herrin (deceased). They had six grandchildren: Pam Graves, Katie Smith, Heather Young, Christin (Kevin) Boicourt, Kellyn (Adam) Rolfe, and Gary Ray Herrin. They also had five great-grandchildren: Hailey Graves, Colton and Scarlett Young, and Wyatt and Madi Herrin. She was currently attending Trinity Temple Assembly of God in Arkadelphia. Maureen loved her church family and friends. Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Temple Assembly of God with Pastor Rick Mays officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bower Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2017 at Ruggles-Wilcox from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Temple Assembly of God, 3509 Pine St., Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923, or Oak Bower Cemetery Fund, c/o Marlene Hodges, 3368 Hwy. 7, Bismarck, AR 71929.
