Curtis Lee Breeden, 90, of Conway, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017. He was born May 27, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Burley Elgin and Jennie Osborne (Meade) Breeden. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Teresa "Marie" Halter Breeden, his parents, five brothers, Bradford "Bill", Adrian, Augustine "Gus", Francis, and Lealand Breeden, and three sisters, Helena Nesmith Doris, Dorothy Raab Cook, and Hazel Barton. He is survived by his sister Bernice Wilcox of Springfield, Mo.; son, James (Lise Lotte) of Davenport, Fla.; six daughters, Mary Lee Kellar (Dennis) of Little Rock, Janette Covington (George), Nancy Mitchell (Michael), Anita Luyet (George), Judy Mahar (Larry) of Conway, and Teresa Allgaier (Carl) of Roswell, Ga.; 20 grandchildren, Jennifer Kaushesh (Ash), Erin Davison (Adrian), Kurt Breeden (Mandy), Marik Lundsgaard, Frederik Motor, George Covington Jr. (Brandi), Jason Covington (Amy), Stephanie Covington, Jonathan Mitchell (Trina), David Mitchell (Anna), Brent Luyet (Christina), Travis Luyet, Jennie Welter (Todd), Jeffrey Luyet, Amanda Blair (Rick), Matthew Mahar, John Mahar (Hannah), Mark Mahar, Brian Allgaier (Michelle) and Jessica Haberkkern (Christian) and thirty-eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Subiaco Academy and served in the United States Army during WWII as a Medical Supply Sergeant in the Pacific Theater. He spent many years as a fuel storage manager for the U.S. Oil Terminal and S. T. Services a subsidiary of W.R. Grace. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway where he served as a Eucharistic Adorer, Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus He was also a long time member of the Conway Rotary Club and the Faulkner County Bee Keepers Association. He dedicated his life to the care of his family and was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A Rosary will be held 7 p.m. Sunday, January 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m., January 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Marconi officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, with Kurt Breeden, George Covington Jr, Jason Covington, Jon Mitchell, David Mitchell, Brent Luyet, Travis Luyet, Jeffery Luyet Matthew Mahar, John Mahar, Mark Mahar and Brian Allgaier serving as pallbearers, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. Holy Masses may be said in his honor or memorials may be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment.
