Charles Gary Ashcraft

Reverend Charles Gary Ashcraft, 87 of Springdale, Ark. passed away Nov. 21, 2016. He was born Jan. 10, 1929 in Stuttgart, Ark., the son of Walker Thomas and Frances Lee Gunnell Ashcraft. After graduating Hendrix College, and then Vanderbilt University School of Divinity, Rev. Ashcraft served as a United Methodist Minister for 65 years, throughout Ark. He had also served in the United States Marine Corp. Reverend Ashcraft was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalie Hinshaw Ashcraft and by his brother, Dr. Thomas Lee Ashcraft. Rev. Ashcraft is survived by his son, Charles "Gary" Ashcraft II and wife Deedra of Springdale and grandchildren, Sarah and Walker; and by his son, Thomas "Mark" Ashcraft and wife Tammy of Maricopa, Ariz. and grandchildren, Salane, Staci and Sam. Celebration of Rev. Ashcraft's Life will be Jan. 10, 2017 at the England Methodist Church in England, Ark. Arrangements are by Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers.
