JASPER BEAIRD HOOVER left to be with the Lord early Saturday, Jan. 7. She was born the youngest of eight children Oct. 14th, 1923 in Union Parish, La., to James and Martha Eliza Beaird. Jasper married Paul D. Hoover in New Orleans, La. Dec. 23, 1959. They moved to Little Rock in 1962 and settled in Sherwood where they raised their family. Jasper graduated from Louisiana Tech with a degree in Dietetics. She worked at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans and the VA Hospital in Little Rock. She retired as the Supervisor of Dietetics in 1985. Jasper was a devout member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ for 54 years where she was very active in the church ministries. She became enthralled with genealogy in her retirement years and compiled many generations of family history. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her granddaughter Meridith, and all of her siblings. Jasper is survived by her two sons and their wives; Dean and Shari Hoover of Conway, Ark. and Ken and Vicki Hoover of Germantown, Tenn. Her proudest legacy was her six grandchildren; Paul, Matt, Evan, Jarrett, Cole, and Katherine. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. Jasper will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Rest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. When you get to heaven, Jasper will be waiting for you with a fresh pan of her famous green bean bundles.
