Leonard George Bassham

Warner Robins, Ga. Leonard George Bassham, 79, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 3, 2017. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville, Ga. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Bassham was born on Dec. 29, 1937 in Prairie Grove, Ark. to the late Everett and Elsie Bassham. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps where he retired after twenty two years. He was dedicated to his country and his family whom he loved dearly. He graduated from Prairie Grove High School where he was active in Future Farmers of America. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, who will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife Patsy Bassham, Warner Robins; two daughters, Deborah Bassham Anderson, Warner Robins; Michelle Bassham (Kurt) Hetager, Savannah; one son, John E. (Windy) Bassham, Byron; six grandchildren, Heather D. Anderson, Ashley M. Bassham, Sean C. Bassham , Salina N. Bassham, Kaden V. Hetager, Quinn A. Hetager; five great-grandchildren; one nephew, Jason Bassham, South Carolina. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
