RAYMOND LEONARD KRESSE, 89, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017. He was born July 6, 1927 in North Little Rock, Ark., to the late Joseph A. Kresse Sr. and Monica F. Koenigseiter Kresse. Raymond joined the Navy in 1945 after graduating from North Little Rock High. He took part in Atomic Bomb testing at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific under Operation Crossroads. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church and owner of Kresse Body Shop. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Lewis Kresse; daughter, Janet Kresse Williams and her husband, Sonny; three grandchildren, Jessica Barron Pauley-Bates (Christopher), Brooke Williams and Chad Williams; and one great-grandchild, Gavin Pauley. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Hammons, Joanna McMurray, Josephine Jackson, Cecilia Avance, Matthew and Joseph Kresse. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 1516 Parker St. North Little Rock, Ark. 72114. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 9 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment with military honors will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 5-6 p.m., followed by a rosary at 6 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 8 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home.
