Frederick David "Dave" Rhoda, 86, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Chatham, passed away on Saturday January 7, 2017 at Hickory Heights Health and Rehab in Little Rock. He was born on November 17, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Frederick Christian and Elizabeth Orpha Erwin Rhoda. Dave married Alice Ward on June 20, 1953 in Fort Wayne and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2010. Mr. Rhoda is survived by two daughters: Pam (Leo) Courshon of Park Forest, Ill., and Lori (Dave) Loos of Loami, Ill., one son, Mike (Janet) Rhoda of Little Rock, Ark., six grandchildren: Ben Courshon of Oak Park, Ill., Dan Loos of Springfield, Ill., Alison Loos of Loami, Ill., Philip (Cassie) Rhoda, Jennifer (Paul) Kroger and Tylar Rhoda all of Little Rock, Ark., and three great-grandchildren: Jalie Rhoda, and Kennedy and "Trey" Kroger. He was preceded in death by one brother, Philip Rhoda. Dave was a US Marine who served in the Korean War. He became a Certified Public Accountant and retired from the State of Illinois in 1992. Mr. Rhoda loved to read, travel, watch sports, cheer on the Chicago Cubs and he attended Chatham Presbyterian Church. He loved his children, cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dearly loved his wife of 56 years. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road, with burial to follow at Chatham Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4-6:30 p.m. Friday at Bisch West.
