BETTY E. STEWART, 94, a longtime resident of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Texas on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017. She was preceded by her husband, Roscoe Stewart, parents Anna and Ira Z. Hackler, and sisters Alma Tallman and Olive Goss. She took great pride being born in a dugout in La Junta, Colo., and traveling to Oklahoma via covered wagon as a small child. She subsequently moved to Faulkner County, Ark., where she spent her youth. Betty loved working in her yard and doing for others—neighbors and friends. She is survived by her son, Col (ret) James Stewart and wife Suzanne of San Antonio, Texas; daughters Alice Atkins and husband Ed of Detroit, Texas; and Linda Stewart of Paris, Texas. Also, surviving are four grandchildren Jennifer Wilson and husband Dustin of Comfort, Texas; Stacy Pinter and husband Eric of Round Rock, Texas; Mike Stewart and wife Gretchen of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; and Joel Atkins of Houston, Texas; two step-grandchildren Tara Vaughan and husband Eric of Allen, Texas, and Brad Mueller of San Antonio, Texas. Additionally, she has 10 great-grandchildren, Madilyn and Nathan Wilson; Chase and Ava Pinter; Riley, Remington and Ryker Stewart; and Rosslyn, Bronwyn and Eilis Vaughan. Services will be Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. at North Little Rock Funeral Home with Reverend Jonathon Bevil with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at the Vilonia Cemetery for immediate family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers charitable donations be made to The American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the church of your choice.
