George T Williams

George T. Williams, age 81, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, in Fayetteville. He was born on August 8, 1935, in Memphis, Tennessee, to C.O. and Becky Williams. George was the former president of the Arkansas Oil Marketers Association. He was also a member of the Oklahoma Oil Marketers Association. He was a past president of Northside Rotary also holding a position with the former Fayetteville Civil Service Commission. George was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church of Fayetteville. George was also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and became an avid OU sports fan throughout his life, who traveled across the country to attend many football and basketball games. He also loved to travel to many places including several trips to Las Vegas, England, and throughout Europe. His favorite destination however, was the country of Aruba, where you would find George every year fortwo weeks, enjoying the beautiful country and lifestyle. Finally, George loved playing the game of golf, and until he could no longer play the game, would be seen on a golf course wherever he traveled. He is survived by his wife, Janine Sweitzer of the home; one daughter, Rebecca Williams-Lencho and husband David of Fayetteville; three sons, Charles M. Williams and wife Linda of Dallas, Texas, Marty Williams of Fayetteville, and T. Scott Williams and wife Cheryl of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Chris Williams of Dallas, Texas, Ryan Williams of Dallas, Texas, Lindsay Henson and husband Isaac of Dallas, Texas, Niki Cochran and husband Adam of Tacoma Park, Maryland, Stephani Carlile and husband Andrew of Denver, Colorado, T.J. Williams and wife Christina of Fayetteville, and Jonathan Williams of Fayetteville; and three great-grandchildren.
