Doris Welborn Smith

Doris Welborn Smith, 93, of Huntsville, Arkansas died January 12, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center-Springdale. She was born October 10, 1923 at Carthage, Texas the daughter of Robert Thomas and Lucy Wagner Welborn. She was a retired teacher at the Huntsville Elementary School, after having been an elementary school teacher in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a committed Christian and involved in many ministry endeavors. She was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers of Madison County and the Huntsville Extension Homemakers Club. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert David Smith of Huntsville, Arkansas and Richard and Becky Smith of San Antonio, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert S. and Patricia Welborn of Kerrville, Texas; and two grandsons, Joshua Smith and Steven Smith both of San Antonio, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21 at the Alabam Cemetery with Brother Bob Case officiating under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net at Huntsville. Pallbearers will be family. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the family present.
