James W. Osburn

James W. Osburn age 71, of Vick, Ark., died Monday, January 23rd at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born March 2nd, 1945 in Newport, Ark., a son of the late Elias Osburn and Geneva Massey Osburn. He was a retired employee with the Arkansas State Medical Examiner Office, a retired Bradley County Sheriff Office Deputy, a member of the Eagle Lake Crossroads Baptist Church near Vick, Ark. And a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corp. In his earlier years, he worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 690 out of Little Rock, Ark. where he served as a shop steward. Surviving is his wife, Opal Jones Osburn whom he married July 17th, 2010. A son, James William Osburn Jr. and spouse Kathy, Jackson, Miss. A daughter, April Barnes, Benton, Ark.; three brothers, Wayne Osburn and spouse Nancy, Hampton, Va., Charles Osburn and spouse Suzanna, Bigelow, Ark., Kenneth Osburn and spouse Debbie, Morrow, Ohio; five sisters, Vera Williams, Snow Camp, N.C., LaNell Bennett, Grandview, Texas, Jean Anselmi, Naples, Fla., Louise Rose and spouse Wayne, Heber Springs, Ark., and Sandra Gates, Newport, Ark.; three grandchildren, Rebecca Osburn of Mississippi, Jimmy Osburn of Flordia, and Jackson Barnes, Benton, Ark. Funeral services 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26th at Frazer's Chapel. Visitation: 12 noon till service time on Thursday, January 26th at Frazer's Funeral Home.
