Bobby Francis Edmonson, 84, of Bauxite, passed away July 1, 2017. He was born on April 8, 1933 in Bauxite to the late David Frank and Alice Henthorne Edmonson. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers: D.F., Bill, Euell "Jabo," and David Edmonson and one sister, Ruby Ridgeway. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lucy Charlene Fullington Edmonson of Bauxite; daughter, Beverly (Randy) Crossland of Benton; two sons, Bobby Edmonson and Benjie (Beverly) Edmonson of Benton; grandchildren: Bryan (Tiffany) Edmonson of Atlanta, Jason (Moriah) Crossland of Bauxite, Lindsey (Durrell) Nevels of Benton, Jenny (Ben) Crossland of Sherwood, and Hunter Polsgrove of Bryant; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his brothers: Leon (Jean) of Benton, Thurman (Linda) of Bauxite, Phillip of Bryant, Randy (Mae Dean) of Prattsville, Lynn (Elaine) of Traskwood; sisters: Helen Ward of W. Va, Verna (Kenneth) Ladd of Kansas, Marjie Ladd of Sheridan, Alice White of El Dorado, Linda (Jackie) Hardin of Hot Springs, and Mary (Terry) Abels of Bauxite. Bob was a very loving, caring and generous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will leave a great void in all our hearts, but we know he is resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. Bob was a Marine until the day he died. He retired from Alcoa after 44 years and Wal-Mart after 15 years, where he made many friends and gave and received many warm hugs. He was an avid Arkansas Razorback and St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed traveling the backroads of the Western US, a member of Bauxite Old Timers, Holland Chapel, and the Masonic Lodge, an assistant Boy Scout Leader for many years, helped start the Benton Future Panthers Football Program, a collector of Indian artifacts, and he could throw one hell of a left-handed knuckleball. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Ashby's Funeral Home in Benton from 6-8 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, July 7, 2017 at Forest Hills Cemetery on Hwy. 5 at 11 a.m., with Brother Carl Ritchie officiating.
