Donald Lee Roberts

Donald Lee Roberts, 94, passed away July 1, 2017. Donald was born Nov. 5, 1922 in Paron, Ark., to the late Stanford Lee Roberts and Elizabeth White Roberts. He was predeceased by his brothers Theodore and Allen Roberts and his wife of 68 years, JoAnne Roberts. Don is survived by his sister Mary Lou Messersmith of Hot Springs; brothers, William Roberts of Gulfport, Miss., and Dr. Frank (Nancy) Roberts of Ft. Smith; children, Donna (Bill) Kerr of Maumelle and Paul (Nancy) Roberts of Hot Springs. Don was a loving Pa-Pa to five granddaughters; Amy Snider, Stacey Steven-Assheuer, Heather Abed of Little Rock, Harmony Cole of Maumelle, and Allison Roberts. He was also very proud of his 11 great-grandchildren: Bo, Bruin, Elizabeth, and Rachel Snider; Oliver, Samuel, Andrew and Julian Steven-Assheuer; William and Amelia Abed; and Brady Cole. He will live on in their hearts and memories forever. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Gross Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Thursday with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rob, Bo, and Bruin Snider; Mike and Oliver Steven- Assheuer; Steven Abed; and Matt Cole. Don was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a retired employee of General Motors, a member of First Baptist Church and the Jordan Sunday School Class.
