Don Allen Bright

Don Allen Bright, 80, of Fayetteville passed away July 10 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Okla. to Virgil and Martha Bright, both of whom preceded him in death. Don is survived by his wife, Maureen Bright; daughter, Debbie Van Horn and her husband Lee; grandsons, Jacob and Nathan Williams; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Reagan, and Ian Williams; and sisters, Jackie Bredenger and Judi Davis. Don was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Marquette High School. He also attended the University of Tulsa, as well as Texas Christian University. During his life in Tulsa, he was a member of the Air National Guard. Through mutual friends he met and married Maureen Johnson and they lived in Tulsa until moving to Prairie Grove, Ark. to raise cattle in 1978. In 2002 after Don retired, they moved to Fayetteville. This year they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Don enjoyed writing most of all and was a prolific poet. He also wrote editorials for the local newspaper and hosted call-in shows for local radio stations. No service or viewing will be held. Condolences: www.eptingfuneralhome.webs.com.
