Lamar McDade, 81, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 7, 2017 in Star City. Born James Lamar Anthony McDade, he was born January 12, 1936 in Rison, son of Ed and Vera Mae Pierce McDade. Mr. McDade was reared and received his early education in Fordyce. He moved to Pine Bluff in 1957 and proudly earned his GED in 1966. He was a conductor for the Cotton Belt Railroad from 1967 until 1997. Mr. McDade was a member of The Church of Christ and Local 462 U.T.U. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings, Lucille McDougal, Lena Mae Granderson, Verna Sue Berg, Mary Ella Granderson, R.E. "Buddy" McDade, Mamie Ruth Todd, Ora Lee McBryde, Rachel Lochala and Charles Franklin McDade. Survivors include his wife, Faydra Hamilton McDade, whom he married May 30, 1954 in Fordyce; daughter, Donna Jean Pennington (Larry) of Star City; two sons, Michael Anthony McDade (Loretta) of Pine Bluff and Charles Brian McDade (Cheryl), of Sheridan; grandchildren, Tanya Jean Hill (Brad), Amanda Leigh Pennington, Joshua Lamar McDade (Lauren), Nicole Terrell, Jamie Love (Stephen) and Brittany McDade; great-grandchildren, Ava Claire Hill, Slade Allen McDade, Sophia Paige McDade, Kirk Spencer, Keria Ryndell, Cameron Love, Kayson Love, Dawson Gustus, and Chloe Gustus; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10am, Thursday, July 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Walton Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson's.
