Gearlene "Jerry" Wood Harlan passed away July 18, 2017. She was born February 8, 1925 in Searcy, Arkansas to Andrew Bennett Wood and Mildred Phelps Wood. She was married for 60 years to Cletus "C.D." Harlan. Gearlene was a retired school bus driver for Pulaski County School District. She had visited all 50 states and attended the President Clinton Library opening. Gearlene was a Razorback fan and an avid card player with family and friends. She attended countless baseball and basketball games of her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband C. D. Harlan; her parents; her grandmother, Ada Brown, who raised her after her mother's death; and twin sister, Floredine. Gearlene leaves behind son, James Dale Harlan (Judy), son, Donnie Lee Harlan (Johnnie), daughter, Sandra Kay Bradford (Charles "Corky"), son, Gerald Wayne Harlan (Lee), daughter, Terri Annette Coon (Patrick); 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one soon-to-be great-granddaughter; and Paul Forehand (Madeleine), who she considered another son. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, July 21, 2017 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery.
