Charles Ron Manning

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Charles Ron Manning, 73, of Alexander City, will be held July 22, 2017 at 6 p.m., at Jakes Restaurant in Alexander City, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Mr. Manning passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on November 26, 1943 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Tom Manning and Mardel Holder Manning. He attended Alex City Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Mr. Manning retired from American Express and was owner of Lake Martin Prop Shop. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Spencer Manning of Alexander City; son, Jayson Sellers (DaShell) of Flower Mound, Texas; daughter, Kristi Sellers Browning (Shannon) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Leeroy Keith Manning, Kendra Lynn Manning, Megan Browning, Haley Browning, Gavin Sellers, Audrye Sellers, and Janna Sellers; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Steenburg, Linda Wills (David), and Kathy Jones; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Wade Manning; brother, Michael Ervin Manning; and brother-in-law, Dutch Steenburg.
