Joyce Ruth Bishop

Joyce Ruth Bishop, age 85, of Jacksonville passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017. She was born May 27, 1932 in Tottenville, Staten Island, New York to the late Crawford Robert Biller and Evelyn Ruth Mesbeth Biller. She was a retired school teacher, she taught special education at Bayou Meto Elementary, UAMS, Easter Seals, and numerous other schools. She was dedicated to teaching her students. She traveled the world with her husband, they spent years sailing all over, she also enjoyed snow skiing and lived by the motto "Life A Grand Adventure." In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Ronald and Robert Biller. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lt. Col. James W. Bishop, her two sons, Blair W. Bishop of Tennessee, Brian W. Bishop of Texas, and one sister Linda Krakower. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Staten Island, New York.
