Jackey Dale Hefley, 64, passed away on Saturday, June 3, finally attaining the peace he had yearned for. He was proud to call his home, Mount Judea in the Ozark Mountains in northern Arkansas, though he made his home in Little Rock for all of his adult life. He married Deborah Ereman Hefley in 1974 and together they have two wonderful children, Joshua Ereman Hefley (wife Laura) and Sarah Elizabeth Hefley. He has three grandchildren, Jack Henry, Ruby Wren and Ellie Marie. Family was everything to Jackey and his lifelong desire was for them to follow Christ in their lives. Jackey became a Christian at the age of 9 at the Rock Haven Bible Camp along the Buffalo River. He was preceded in death by his father, William Kenneth Hefley. Jackey is survived by his mother, Beaurie Maxine Hefley; two brothers, Kenneth Eugene Hefley of Harrison and Kerry Lynn Hefley of Little Rock; along with nephews Taylor Hefley and Bailey Hefley and nieces, Laura Wilson and Kristy Floyd. Jackey started his career as a commercial real estate appraiser and ended his career working for Syncor Pharmaceutical Company. Though Jackey struggled with many medical issues throughout his life, this did not define him. He loved to study God's word making index cards with his favorite Bible verses which he would post around the house. He kept an active prayer journal and would diligently pray for these people daily. He was quite a story teller, especially in his younger days, and friends and family would gather around to hear his animated tales. A life of sickness took a toll on his body but now he is healed and experiencing the peace of heaven in the presence of Christ. Funeral will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, 519 North Spring Street, Harrison, Arkansas 72601. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Judea Cemetery in Newton County. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com\chenal.
