Gelene "Gigi" Hamm, 86, of Fayetteville, Ark. passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 in Fayetteville. She was born January 6, 1931 in Mount Judea, Arkansas to Lester and Nettie (Carver) Greenhaw. Mrs. Hamm was a longtime member of North Street Church of Christ. Gigi walked in the water regularly at Trinity Rehabilitation as well as Washington Regional Center for Exercise. Before walking in the water, she was an avid runner, running and walking with her children and grandchildren. Her emphasis on health and exercise has been an inspiration to all her family. She was an excellent seamstress who created her children' and grandchildren's clothes and costumes. Her favorite pastime with family was shopping at T.J. Maxx or shopping with QVC. She was preceded in death by her husband Doyne Hamm and her daughter, Nancy Hamm Gibson. She is survived by her son, David Hamm of Fayetteville, Ark., daughter, Debbie Vera and husband David of San Antonio, Texas, her twin sister, Maxine LaMunyon of Woodward, Okla., her sister-in-law, Elizabelle Greenhaw, seven grandchildren, Matthew Boyce, Preston Hamm, Nathan Redmon and wife Chelsea, Aisling Gibson, Will Gibson, Melissa Vera, Michelle Fikac and husband Brad, and two great-grandchildren, Taylor Fikac and Peyton Fikac. Memorial services will be held, 11 a.m., Saturday, June10th in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Regional Center for Exercise 12 East Appleby Road Fayetteville, Ark. 72703.
