Richard E. "Dick" Barnes, 81, of Garfield, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice Legacy Village in Bentonville Arkansas. He was born July 7, 1935 in Creede, Colorado and was raised in the Sulphur Springs, Arkansas area by his parents Shannon and Rose Davis Barnes. Dick spent many years working for Superior Boiler Works in Hutchinson, Kansas before moving back to Arkansas where became a successful business owner. He owned and operated R.E. Barnes Incorporated in Springdale from 1979 until 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking. He was an avid outdoorsman and a great chef. He found his true happiness enjoying God's nature at his home on Beaver Lake. Dick was a very generous person and he loved to travel. Dick married the love of his life, Alice K. Barnes, in December of 1979 in which they spent the next 27 years traveling and loving life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Barnes and his parents. Survivors include one son, Clark Barnes of Hutchinson, Kansas; three daughters, Kathy Mullin of Olathe, Kansas, Roxie Wyer of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Brenda Ludlow of Olathe, Kansas; one brother, Earl Barnes and wife Irene of Hutchinson, Kansas; one sister, Marie Boling and husband John of Wichita, Kansas and one grandson, Aaron Wolfe of Springdale: and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, June 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Tontitown. Visitation will be Sunday, from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.siscofuneral.com.
