Benny Gene Stone, age 86 of Monticello, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 At Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado, AR. He was born December 31, 1930 in Cleveland County, Ark. to the late Lee Roy Stone and Elsie Wilson Culpepper Stone. Mr. Stone was a farmer, former employee of Federal Compress and has been a self-employed businessman in Monticello for many years. He was a member of the Center Missionary Baptist Church where he served as deacon. He was also a Master Mason and an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Beatrice Duncan; a brother, George Stone; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Mary Bell Porter Stone of Monticello; two sons, David Stone and wife Jessica of Magnolia and Matt Stone and wife Jenny of Camden; one daughter Karen Robinson and husband Kenneth of Pine Bluff; six grandchildren, Laci Baugh, Silas Robinson, Jon Rocklan Stone, Kelly Garner, Mason Stone and Hillary Stone; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Baugh, Brooklyn Baugh and Lincoln Matthew Garner. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donnie Blackerby and Rev. Buddy Lemons officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
