Clinton Eugene Jayne

Clinton Eugene Jayne, age 95, of Warren, Ark., passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Chapel Woods in Warren, Ark. Clinton, the only child of the late Lester and Goldie Vought Jayne, was born on April 20, 1922, in Hunter, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Cotton Plant Schools, Draughn's School of Business, and Mid-South Executive Development Program at L.S.U. In 1941, Clinton enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a pharmacist's mate (medic). After the war, he was stationed in Japan where he assisted in establishing post-war medical facilities. On February 10, 1943, Clinton married Christine Primm in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was stationed with the Navy. As a young man, he began work in the payroll department of Southern Lumber Company in Warren, advancing to the position of vice president and general manager in charge of wood products for the Southern Division of Potlatch. He retired from Potlatch Corp., after 44 years of service as Vice President of the Southern Division. Clinton was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren. Survivors include his wife of 74 years, Christine Primm Jayne; two sons, John Jayne (Becky) of Wilsonville, Ore., and Thomas Jayne (Rebecca) of Randall, Ark.; two grandchildren, John Thomas Jayne (Crystal) and Jennifer Jorgensen (Christian) of Oregon; and two great-grandchildren Austin Jorgensen and Brody Jayne both of Oregon. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Oakland Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the First United Methodist Church parlor in Warren.
