Lee F. Griffith, 68, of Bentonville, formerly of Russellville, passed peacefully and surrounded by his family Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Circle of Life Hospice Home in Bentonville. The son of Walter and Charline Barry Baldridge Griffith, he was born August 13, 1948 in Heber Springs. A career-long educator, Lee graduated from Quitman High School in 1966 and received a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas. Lee married Barbara Ford on May 31, 1969 at the First Baptist Church, Russellville. Lee taught in the Russellville Public Schools for 12 years at the Area Vocational Center. He then served as Public School Program Supervisor and the Agricultural Associate Director of Workforce Training for the Arkansas Department of Education, retiring in 2007. He continued educating at East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City before retiring in 2011. He was a member of the Russellville Masonic Lodge (#247) and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #606. Lee and Barbara were members of First Baptist Church (Bentonville) and First Baptist Church (Russellville). He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Griffith, Bentonville; two sons, Barry Griffith (Kim), Bentonville; Matthew Griffith, Bentonville; two grandchildren, Taylor Griffith and Grayson Griffith, Bentonville; sister, Luann Wirges (John), Sherwood; niece, Kelley Lensing, Sherwood; nephew, Johnny Wirges (Cheri), Conway. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2017 at Humphrey Chapel. Mr. Harry Simcox will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Sunday, at the funeral home.
