Lucille Bernice (Lucy) Alley

Lucille Bernice (Lucy) Alley, (95), of Bryant, died on March 14, 2017. Lucy was an accomplished interior designer who began her career at Newbill's Furniture Company in Benton. After 12 years of service with Newbills, she worked for the Ethan Allen Carriage House in Little Rock and remained there for 19 years. She retired after several years of freelance work through Alley Mars Interiors. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Rufus Brown and Bernice Edwards Brown; husband James Nelson Alley; sisters Victoria Shultz, Gracie D. Fulford, Eula Mae Frisby, and Ella Lee Moore; bothers Don Frank Brown and Roy E. Brown. She is survived by sister Geneva Dohner; two children, James Phillip Alley of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Sharon Raye Guest of Benton, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kimberly Alley Aguilar of Overland Park, Kansas, Jon David Guest and Crystal Michele Mckenzie both of Bryant, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren; Gabriella, Aidan, Landon, Ryan, Austyn, and Jake. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday March 16, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church of Bryant in Bryant, Arkansas. A private interment will be entrusted to Ashby Funeral Home at Pine Crest Cemetery the following day. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church.
