Ronald David Fowler

Photo of Ronald David Fowler
Ronald David Fowler, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died on Oct. 30, 2017 at the age of 65 of sudden heart failure. Less than a week earlier, he had moved from Plainview to be close to his son, Chad Fowler, and daughter in law, Kelly Jeanne Fowler. He also leaves behind a brother, Gene, and a beloved aunt, Barbara Jean. Ron was born in Long Island and spent his childhood moving from place to place while his father was in the military. As a teenager, he joined the Air Force. He hated it. Ron was not the sort of person to work in that kind of structure. Later in life he joined the United States Postal Service, which he also hated. His passion was photography. He threw away a stable career to proudly run his own photography business in Little Rock for many years. Ron was paradoxically both one of the most cynical and untrusting people you could ever meet and one of the kindest and most generous. He loved his family with ferocious loyalty. He insisted that there not be a service when he died and would be aggravated to see how much space the family has taken for this obituary. If you'd like to honor his memory, you should do so by being inappropriately generous to others. Leave a bigger tip at a restaurant than you can afford, trust someone who hasn't yet earned your trust, or give away something you need to someone else who needs it.
