SHELBY JEAN WHITEHEAD, 75, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Nov. 2, 2017. She was born in England, Ark., on Nov. 24, 1941, to Arnold E. Hollingshead, Sr. and Montean Shumate Hollingshead. Shelby was preceded in death by her parents and baby brother Junior. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Buck, son Chris Whitehead, his wife Valerie, two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Samantha and extended family that includes Valerie and Chris's nephew and niece, Alex and Kaylan, sister-in-law Judy Hollingshead and her children, multiple nieces and nephews, cousins, several close friends, and many more, while not related still called her aunt Shelby or mom. Shelby was a hard worker. She retired from the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company with over 30 years of service. After this retirement, she went on to work at Camp Robinson for several years until she retired again in 2017. But more than anything she strived to live her life as an example of the values taught to her by her father. She was a founding member of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and worked in the GMA program. She enjoyed scrapbooking, taking pictures and bird watching, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends. Visitation will be Mon., Nov. 6, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Ark. Services are to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Brother Paul Rice will be officiating. Interment will follow in Gravel Ridge Community Cemetery, Sherwood, Ark. Arrangements by Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136.
