Arthur John Kitta

Arthur John Kitta, age 86, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. He was born December 8, 1930 in North Little Rock to John and Rose Bawiec Kitta. Arthur was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he was a member of the Rosary Sodality, Men's Club and Knights of Columbus. He served as Parish Council President for multiple terms, and helped maintain the parish and cemetery grounds for many years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Chicopee Manufacturing Company where he was a Production Supervisor, and later was employed by North Little Rock Funeral Home. Arthur enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and vegetables to share with family and friends. He was very proud of his Polish heritage, and was often sought out for his knowledge of Marche and its history. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Magdalene Kromray Kitta, a daughter Judith Peterson (Kevin), grandsons, Michael and Logan Peterson of Memphis, Tenn., and brother Edward Kitta of Merritt Island, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Connie Kaplon, and brothers, Cyril and Lucian Kitta. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital. A rosary service will begin at 6:30 p.m on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 followed by visitation until 8 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 7006 Jasna Gora Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017; followed by burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.
