Jessie Louise Hankins Tucker, 89, of Pine Bluff, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Tucker was born Oct. 13, 1928, in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late Lonnie Torrence and Annie Mae Wilson Hankins. She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she graduated from Pine Bluff High School. She moved to Alameda, Calif. and married Arthur Graham Tucker on Feb. 22, 1947. She lived and worked in California until 1956, then returned to Arkansas with her husband and her son, Ronnie Tucker. They owned and operated a dairy farm in northern Arkansas then moved to Pine Bluff. Later, she and her husband established and operated Tucker's Plant Nursery for over 30 years. After retiring in 1994 from the nursery, she and her husband enjoyed some traveling to various places. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in Hawaii. They drove to Alaska in 1999, and made a short trip to Washington D.C. She also took a trip to Germany with a girl friend who had relatives there. She was a member of Hardin Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher. She is survived by her husband, Arthur G. Tucker; her granddaughter, Rhonda (Mike) Gober of Wye Mountain, Ark.; and a great-granddaughter, Mary Rose Gober. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronnie Dale Tucker; one brother; and four sisters. The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, from noon until 1 p.m. at Hardin Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, 1 p.m., at Hardin Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Taylor officiating.
