Mary E. Crook Brown

MARY E. CROOK BROWN of North Little Rock, Ark., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017. She was born on Dec. 19, 1921, in Scott, Ark., and was at the time of her death, a member of St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Brown, her parents, father, Jonas Crook, mother, Blanche Jackson, siblings, Azzie Crook, Ervin Jackson and son, Harrison D. Smith Jr. She was a graduate of Scipio A. Jones High School, Philander Smith College and a retired elementary school teacher of the Little Rock School District. She is survived by one son, William L. McCraw (Helen) Sherwood, Ark.; one granddaughter, Tammy de Jesus (Jairo) Atlanta, Ga.; one grandson, Chase McCraw Sherwood, Ark.; two great -grandchildren, Jarrison and Jillian DeJesus, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, 6 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 South Chester St., Little Rock, Ark., (501) 372-1305. Celebration of her life will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Rock Baptist Church, 2201 Brown St., Little Rock, Ark.
