Born Charles Larry Rouse on January 31, 1948, to Ralph and Fayleen Rouse, he was a genuine and loving person who touched the lives of all who knew him. After graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1966, Larry attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello on a football scholarship, graduating in 1971 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. After college, Larry taught junior high school and shared his love of sports through coaching youth football, baseball and basketball teams. He impacted numerous lives through coaching and was ceremoniously honored in 2009 by many of athletes he had trained. Larry's love for sports could only be topped by his love for his family and friends. As an avid fisherman, golfer, and Hogs fan, he often spent time sharing these passions with his children, grandchildren and friends. In 1979 Larry began work with the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 2009 with many co-workers as life-long friends. He married his wife, Donna, in 2011 at Lauderdale By the Sea and relocated to Lighthouse Point, Fla. in 2013. Larry enjoyed retirement with a happy heart, often golfing, fishing, watching Razorback football and travelling. Larry was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend whose sage advice, charming wit and dazzling smile will be deeply missed. Larry is preceded in death by his grandson, Samuel Dean Rouse; his parents, Ralph Dean Rouse Sr. and Fayleen Miles Rouse; his sister, Linda Rouse Sneed, and brother-in-law, Don Sneed. A visitation and memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
