Albert Warren Wood, 90, of Beebe, Arkansas lost his battle with dementia but earned a place with the Lord. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was active duty as a WWII veteran stationed in Guam in Micronesia in the Pacific Ocean. Warren was a member of the Guam/Naval Supply Depot Basketball Team and won the Western Pacific Naval Championship. After the military he attended Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and studied agriculture; becoming a dairy farmer. He retired from Mohawk Rubber Company in West Helena, Arkansas as a supervisor. Moving to Beebe in 1979, he finished his working years at ASU Beebe as Maintenance and Electrician. His favorite things were nature, animals (especially German Shepherds), fishing, gardening (he grew the best tomatoes in the county), flowers, bird watching and the Razorbacks. He would call the Hogs before calling anyone!!! In his final years, he enjoyed kisses from his grand-dog Eve. Warren was a longstanding member and Elder at the Beebe First Christian Church. Warren maintained a positive attitude and a great sense of humor, keeping his family, friends, and caregiver laughing until the very end. He was preceded in death by his parents Starling W. Wood and Hazel Douglas Wood; his wife Dolores Wood; infant son Kenneth Warren Wood; eleven brothers and sisters, Roy Wood, Horace Wood, Jack Wood, Jennings Wood, Colonel Witt Wood, Marion "Babe" Wood, Alice Lofton, Naomi Craft, Fannie Lou Milam, Vera Watson and Josephine Wood. He is survived by Chris and daughter Deanna Wood White of Conway; Scott and granddaughter Amy Traylor Gentry of Jonesboro; grandson Ronald Adrean Britton of Grady; great grandson Julian A. Ballard of Beebe; and many beloved nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Thank you to Kindred Hospice nurses, social workers, chaplain, and his sweet aide Brandy Johnson; truly loved caregivers Carol Henderson, Margaret Greer, Nina Cox and his "sweetheart" Holly Seigrist.
