Buena Inez Lay Campbell

BUENA INEZ LAY CAMPBELL, age 95 of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with our Lord on March 29, 2018. Buena was born on November 28, 1922 in Clinton, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Cecil and Reta Lay. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Higgingbotham and one brother, Dalton Lay. She is survived by grandsons, Joey Higgingbotham (Amanda) of Houston, Texas and Stephen Bryan Campbell of Rogers, Arkansas; one brother, Lyndell Lay (Bernice) of Little Rock, Ark.; nephews, Mark Lay (Cathy) and children, Chloe – Sarah Cate of North Little Rock, Phillip Lay (Pam) and children, Phillip, Jr., and Lauren; one niece Michelle Lay Dickinson (Clay) and Children, Lindsey and Cody of Little Rock. Buena was a graduate of Clinton State Vocational Training School (Now Clinton High School). She attended and received a diploma from Draughon's School of Business College in Little Rock. In addition, she studied at Grossment College in Lamesa, California, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and University of Houston in Houston, Texas. Buena's career included working for the Arkansas State Police in a Secretarial position and later worked for the Federal Government working with a group of Administrative Law Judges. Buena was of the Christian Faith and a member of the Unity Church of Christianity, Houston, Texas where she did volunteer work for more than 10 years. Buena was also a former member of Second Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Bradley Cemetery in Clinton, Arkansas with Dr. Preston Clegg officiating.
