ROBERT WAYNE (ROBBIE) BREWER, 42, of Little Rock, passed away on March 28, 2018. He was born on July 11, 1975 to Wayne Brewer and Sharon (Brewer) Piazza. He was a graduate of Watson Chapel High School and attended UALR for 2 years. He is survived by his mother, Sharon and Harvey Piazza of Little Rock, AR; father, Wayne and Judy Brewer of Pine Bluff, AR, half-sister, Chloe Piazza of Little Rock, AR, step-sister, Samantha Bates (Lee Bates); niece, Ashlynn Bates and nephew, Austin Bates all of Hot Springs, AR; aunts, Margaret Welch and Carolyn Golden of Glenwood, AR and close friend, Trey Potter. Robbie was considerate from the very beginning; his Mom was told by the doctor that she had until 10:00 a.m. to deliver him, if not a C-Section would be necessary; Robbie arrived promptly at 9:55 a.m. Robbie had beautiful hair with soft brown curls. As a very young boy, was often told how beautiful he was to which he quickly responded, "I'm not beautiful, I'm handsome." He never met a stranger, could talk to anyone and made friends wherever he went, people felt comfortable talking to him. He was in a car wreck at the age of 22 leaving him with permanent life-changing injuries; brachial plexis (nerves pulled out of the spine) rendering his right arm useless for the remainder of his life and a traumatic brain injury causing him to lose his memory and walking abilities – it took over a year to recover both his memory and the ability to walk without a walker or crutch. His right arm had to be in a sling with the hand in a glove every day to insure continuance of circulation even though the arm could not function. The nerve pain from these injuries was never ending and he dealt with it every day but remained upbeat and smiling for his friends. One of his favorite stories to tell happened a couple of years after the wreck when he was finally able to do something fun again, he was going to float a river with friends, they stopped at a small store/station near the river in the middle of nowhere and another car pulled in with a very attractive young lady in it grabbing their attention. She began waving and smiling at Robbie, it was a nurse who had helped take care of him in the UAMS ICU Trauma Unit for a month. His friends couldn't believe it and teased him saying, "Of course Robbie would find a beautiful woman he knows, even out here in the middle of nowhere". One of Robbie's fondest memories actually happened on the same September day in 1997 that the wreck happened, about 12 hours before the wreck, he went to a nearby golf course just to practice a little and hit his one and only hole in one. Then ran around frantically asking anyone he could find there if they saw it, hoping they actually saw it too. It was like a special gift for him of the last best thing he would do with two arms. He developed amazing abilities over the years with only his left arm including typing, tying shoe laces, driving a stick shift and even hitting a golf ball again. When no one would give him a job without the use of his right arm, he found his niche in selling, as many friends told him, he could sell ice cubes to an Eskimo. A gathering of friends and family will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, April 3rd at Little Rock Funeral Home. Graveside service will be private. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200. Robbie's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
