Maidie Canard Clements

Maidie Canard Clements, age 89, of Bigelow, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was born January 24, 1929, in Tuckerman, a daughter of the late William Walter "Bill" Canard and the late Birdie Mae Bangs Canard. She was a homemaker, world traveler, and a member of Bigelow Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Winford "Pete" Burgess and Bob Clements; a son, Michael Keith Burgess; three brothers, Shelby Canard, Preston Canard, Jesse Canard and his twin sister Bessie (infants); sisters, Myrtle Helms and husband Clarence; Vada Connelly and husband Erskine, Nellie Greenwood and husband Jack, Monnie Sue Nicholas and husband Ira; several nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Richardson Rankin; two grandsons, Brian Richardson (Lisa) and Jason Richardson (Tina); one granddaughter, Melanie Mitchell (Joe); four great-grandsons, Michael Mezes (Kaylee), Nicky Richardson, Dylan Richardson, and Cody Mitchell; one great-great-grandson, Asher Mezes; one great-great-granddaughter, Aubree Lynn Mezes; two step-great-granddaughters, Laura and Jennifer Coppersmith; one step-great-grandson, Grayson Wade; and one step-great-great-grandson, Bronx Broadie. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Harris Chapel with Bro. John Chapman officiating. Burial will be at Volman Cemetery in Bigelow.
